Lagos is an artist-in-residence program and studio rental space dedicated to the production, exhibition, and development of contemporary art projects. We are a self-managed organization run by artists for artists, promoting the intersection of art professionals with locations in Berlin, Germany; and in Mexico, in the states of Oaxaca and Baja California, as well as in Mexico City.
Lagos supports and sustains artists at crucial moments in their careers by offering workspaces, facilitating collaborations with specialists in various disciplines, and promoting new audiences through a program of curatorial residencies, studio rentals, exhibitions, monthly open studios, educational programs, and community collaborations.
Lagos is open to artists, curators, writers, editors, and cultural agents, offering them the opportunity to become part of the creative landscape of Mexico and Germany, as well as collaborations and projects that broaden the discussion of current issues approached through contemporary art.

With spacious architecture and a location close to the Historic Center and just minutes from Polanco, where the Tamayo Museum, the Jumex Museum, among others, are located, lagos | CDMX is situated in a semi-industrial complex from the mid-20th century, in the central-east heart of the exciting Mexico City. The Residency Program offers a unique opportunity to develop a solid creative process. With the support of our team and the guidance of our chief curator, olgaMargarita dávila, the artist will achieve greater depth in both their conceptual process and material and intentional aspects of their work. olgaMargarita has extensive experience working closely with artists, guiding them toward a deeper dimension of their practice and helping them reach their goals.
Our residency program is open to artists and curators working in any artistic medium (visual, sound, digital, or performance). Residents have the opportunity to join the Lagos platform for the promotion and commercialization of their work. Our residency program is offered in two modalities: A) International, B) Global South. The first is for artists from Europe, the USA, Japan, and China. The second is aimed at artists from Mexico, Latin America, and the continents of Africa, Asia, and Oceania.
Aware of the art system and its global operation, we want to offer an accessible opportunity for artists born and/or residing in Latin America, as well as for artists from anywhere in Mexico and the mentioned continents.
The LAGOS community is optimal for developing personal strategies through dialogue and enriching encounters with established colleagues.
