Open Call: Helsinki International Curatorial Programme
he Helsinki International Curatorial Programme (HICP) is welcoming applications from international curators for a one-month residency at HIAP Suomenlinna. Co-organised by Frame Contemporary Art Finland (@frame_finland) and HIAP (@hiap_suomenlinna) , the programme offers time and space to develop curatorial research and build connections with the Finnish contemporary art field.
During the residency, curators join HIAP’s international community and receive tailored support and networking from both HIAP and Frame, including introductions to Finnish artists and art professionals. The residency is especially suited to research, writing, planning future collaborations, and developing projects such as exhibitions, public events, or publications.

The residency includes a €1200 working grant, a combined living and working space at HIAP Suomenlinna, and a travel allowance (with slow travel encouraged). Residents also have access to HIAP community facilities, including the Community Room, Library, Equipment Room and Wood Workshop, plus some borrowable equipment. There is also an opportunity to deliver a talk or workshop during the residency and to publish a text afterwards.
Who can apply: Curators based outside Finland with 2–3+ years of professional curatorial experience (institutional or independent).
