Colector, founded and directed in 2019 by architect and long-time art scene advocate Jesus Alberto Flores^, is a contemporary art gallery with two locations in San Pedro Garza Garcia, part of the Monterrey metropolitan area, a model city in Mexico.
The gallery’s line dwells on the exploration of new languages in contemporary art, materializing between the limits of conceptual and abstract art. Colector currently represents young and mid-career Latin American artists as well as established international artists working in all forms of media – sculpture, painting, music, performance & film. The curatorial program embodies the gallery’s desire to be used as laboratory, where experimentation and questioning concerning contemporary art take place continuously.
Colector presents about 9 exhibitions per year across both spaces, in addition to off-site performances, screenings &other involvements, and is an active participant in international art fairs alongside some of the best contemporary art galleries in the world today.-^Jesus Alberto Flores (b.1982) has been thoroughly involved since 2006 with the city’s cultural centers and institutions to create a more diverse and profound art scene in Mexico.
