Gilberto Aceves Navarro: Volverse Una Línea

The exhibition explores the artistic work of Gilberto Aceves Navarro (1931–2019), a leading exponent of abstract expressionism in Mexico. A diverse collection of pieces and series, many of which are previously unpublished, reveals the artist’s diverse artistic experimentation and thematic interests throughout history. The power of the stroke and the power of drawing, which extends into painting, printmaking, and sculpture, are central themes throughout the exhibition.
