In this four week course Paul will demonstrate his use of various man made structures as a ‘jumping-off point’ to inspire geometric abstract compositions, using rural farm buildings, isolated cottages and the urban landscape as the initial reference. Paul will explain how he morphs the structures into basic blocks and lines, and the fusing unusual and instinctive colour choices, to conjure up stylised abstract acrylic paintings. Using a wide range of acrylic methods (paint layering, acrylic washes, masking and collage) Paul will be demonstrating this form of painting through all stages: inspiration; composition; and execution.

Course attendees will also have access to a dedicated message board which will allow them to upload their own images for critique, ask questions about techniques and suggestions.

Paul’s mission is to inspire the student to experiment, liberate their mark-making and to enjoy the process of painting with total expression.
