Open Call – Royal Society of Portrait Painters at the RP Annual Exhibition 2026

We invite artists from all over the world to submit portraits for the RP Annual Exhibition 2026!

This prestigious event will take place at the Mall Galleries in London, providing selected artists with an exceptional platform to showcase their talent. Not only will exhibited works have the opportunity to sell, but they may also lead to commissioned projects.

The total prize fund is £35,000, including The William Lock Portrait Prize (£20,000).

Eligibility:
• Any artist over 18 may submit, from anywhere in the world.
• Artists may enter a maximum of four works each, from which up to three works per artist may be selected.
• We welcomes paintings, drawings and original prints – including digital/iPad prints. Sculpture and photography are not admissible.
• Works must have been completed in the last three years and not been exhibited in London previously.
• Works should not be larger than 2.4m along the longest dimension.
• All works must be an original creation by the artist.
