Entre el cielo y el suelo

Art House presents Entre el Cielo y el Suelo, a group exhibition, curated by Carlos Algara. Entre el Cielo y el Suelo is a collective exhibition in which artists Roberto Cortázar and Tori Pounds lead a roster of creative voices whose narratives take us on a journey from the mundane to the abstract, from the real to the imaginary, from the ordinary to the surreal. Between heaven and earth lies our existence, our fears, our dreams, and hopes. It encompasses our artistic becoming. It encompasses us.

As part of this exhibition, Art House México will announce its new representation of Tori Pounds, a British artist who works and lives between West Sussex and Mexico City, known for her impressionistic oil and acrylic paintings of mundane and semi-surrealist scenes. **Between Heaven and Earth** marks Pounds’ second group show with the gallery, where she will showcase a handful of works from her latest series, ‘Romance in the Everyday.’ The representation announcement comes at a crucial point in the artist’s career, following the exhibition of a piece from her new series at KÖNIG Galerie Mexico City a few weeks prior, and after SoHo House Mexico City acquired one of her pieces in 2023, following her residency at JO-HS in Mexico City. In 2022, Pounds also exhibited alongside Hilario Galguera at Cuarto de Máquinas.
