Sophie Reinhold: Hall of Mirrors

Galerie Nordenhake is pleased to present Sophie Reinhold’s first exhibition in Mexico, Hall of Mirrors, which is the result of a six-month residency in Mexico City. Inspired by meteorological phenomena such as hurricanes, weather forecasts, and their symbolism and typology, the artist establishes visual dialogues between the paintings that comprise the exhibition.

Sophie Reinhold lives and works in Berlin, where she was born in 1981. She showed recently a comprehensive institutional exhibition at Halle für Kunst Lüneburg until November 24, 2024. Recently she has had solo exhibitions at Philipp Zollinger, Zurich (2024, 2022); Atrata Paris; Villa Atrata, La Roche-Posay (2023); Fitzpatrick Gallery, Paris (2022); Galerie Sophie Tappeiner, Vienna (2021); Sundogs, Paris; as well as Kunstverein Reutlingen with Ruth Wolf-Rehfeldt (both 2019). She participated in the Zürich Biennale 2023, Kunsthalle Zürich, and her works have been on view in group exhibitions at Kunsthaus Graz; Fri Art Kunsthalle Fribourg (both 2022); Neue Gesellschaft bildende Kunst, Berlin (2021); Kunstverein Ingolstadt; and n.b.k., Berlin (both 2019). Reinhold is the recipient of the Villa Romana Prize (2012) and was shortlisted for the Max- Pechstein-Prize 2013, as well as the Columbus Art Foundation-Prize of Kunsthalle Ravensburg (2012).
