Omar Torres: Emotions

Taking the wheel of emotions developed by psychologist Robert Plutchik as a reference, with his new body of work, Omar Torres investigates our most fundamental emotions. In the lens of Torres, emotions gain their own object condition. They are suspended and manipulated by the artist, evoking a sense of complexity and multidimensionality of the subjects. The presence of precision instruments in the pictorial space further enhances this idea of the complexity of emotions and, at the same time, provides us with an almost objective, scientific distance for further examination of our inner landscape.
