Magaly’s work is a constant search for her roots through a long sensory investigation around the approach of loss and the sacred in Mexican culture.
Four goddesses and their versions in the old world, a proposal that outlines the way the Mexica and the Spanish faced the trauma of sacrifice and how different cultures relate to the loss, showing the wound, tries to tell us a truth that would not otherwise be available.
Between the richness of life and death, between the colorful and the somber, the artist leaves us questions… where does identity live? Where does the void dwells? and who holds it? questions that do not necessarily have an answer.
