Los Embarrados. Santiago Sierra.

Labor tiene el placer de anunciar la próxima inauguración de la exposición individual del renombrado artista conceptual Santiago Sierra [@estudiosantiagosierra], titulada “Los Embarrados”, que se llevará a cabo el jueves 11 de abril.

La muestra presenta seis fotografías y trece dibujos que capturan la instalación creada por Sierra para un desfile de moda realizado en París en octubre de 2022, en colaboración con la reconocida casa de moda de lujo española, #Balenciaga.

En esta ocasión, Sierra revisitó su obra “House in Mud”, originalmente presentada en la Kestner Gesellschaft en Hannover en 2005. El artista utilizó 320 m3 de material, incluyendo 55 m3 de barro y 265 m3 de turba, para crear una representación visual de la incomodidad y la angustia asociadas con la historia alemana. En “Los Embarrados”, esta angustia se traslada a la realidad contemporánea, manifestándose como una indigestión simbólica, una pesadilla palpable de la actual situación geopolítica.

Labor is pleased to announce the upcoming opening of the solo exhibition of renowned conceptual artist Santiago Sierra [ @estudiosantiagosierra] entitled “Los Embarrados”, which will take place on Thursday, April 11th.

The show features six photographs and thirteen drawings capturing the installation created by Sierra for a fashion show held in Paris in October 2022, in collaboration with the renowned Spanish luxury fashion house, #Balenciaga.

On this occasion, Sierra revisited his work “House in Mud”, originally presented at the Kestner Gesellschaft in Hannover in 2005. The artist used 320 m3 of material, including 55m3 of mud and 265m3 of peat, to create a visual representation of the discomfort and anguish associated with German history. In “Los Embarrados”, this anguish is transposed to contemporary reality, manifesting itself as a symbolic indigestion, a palpable nightmare of the current geopolitical situation.
