INDEX Art Book Fair will present its 2026 edition from January 15–18, further strengthening Mexico City’s position as a leading international hub for the promotion and circulation of art- related publications. This year, the fair will take place at kurimanzutto and will introduce a new venue for ZINDEX at Rebollar, Proyectos Públicos, both located in San Miguel Chapultepec. More than one hundred publishers and editorial projects from Mexico and abroad will participate. For the first time, INDEX launches ZINDEX, a new section dedicated to zines and fast-circulation publications.

The main hall at kurimanzutto will host a spatial intervention by Damián Ortega (Mexico, 1967), produced in collaboration with Alias Editorial.

Book Launch: El hombre que debería estar muerto
with Daniel Guzmán and Guillermo Santos

The series of drawings titled El hombre que debería estar muerto is an amalgamation of various interests that intersect in the construction of a kind of visual universe: pre-Hispanic cosmovision, its gods, its rituals, the Spanish conquest, science fiction and fiction cinema, the gnostic darkness of Alien and Darth Vader’s helmet, the texts of Philip K. Dick, John Gray, Mark Fisher, J.G.Ballard, Borges and a long list of writers amidst utopian ruins.

Book Launch: El desconocido
By Pablo Soler Frost and Zopilote Rey, with Abraham Cruzvillegas and Karina Sosa

In Paris in the years following Jean Cocteau’s death, a young man attempts to capture some of the aura that surrounded the great artist, using seduction as a key to enter the circles that knew and admired him. The shadows that surround every relationship are even more evident and can become abysmal when one of the participants is enveloped in the uncertain light of fame.

Social mapping at Index Art Book Fair
By Oscar Murillo

Oscar Murillo invites visitors to join open drawing sessions in a collaborative project the artist calls Social mapping. Participants are encouraged to draw and doodle using simple materials—pens, pencils, and crayons. By taking part, visitors contribute to an endeavor that brings together a global constellation of gestures and voices, producing a layered field where individual marks coexist, overlap, and sometimes obscure one another, creating a dynamic relationship between opacity and legibility. Social mapping is an ongoing project celebrating collective spirit through the simple, universal act of drawing and mark-making.
