Ana Pellicer on view through April 18 at Gaga Mexico City.
Ana Pellicer (1946–2025) was a Mexican sculptor, designer, and teacher renowned for her work in copper. Born in Mexico City, she studied at The New School and the Art Students League in New York before settling in Santa Clara del Cobre, Michoacán. There, she devoted herself to revitalizing traditional copper craftsmanship.
In 1973, she co-founded the Adolfo Best Maugard School of Arts and Crafts, supporting local artisans—especially women—through artistic training and community development. Her work bridged sculpture, jewelry, and social engagement, earning her recognition in Mexico and internationally.
