Color for painters is about so much more than just trying to match what we see. Painters, whether they are working abstractly or en plein air, constantly invent color. This immersive course workshop will show you how to see color individually and then create your own personal color palette. We’ll cover these topics, and more:

• How limited palettes can be a starting point for color exploration.

• Color mixing demystified, including watercolor wet-in-wet.

• Why practical color theory is the starting point for color invention.

• What makes for a dynamic color composition and how to get there.

• How we can adapt the color palettes of the natural world and of master artists to our own work.
