Marsica Fossati

Marsica Fossati is an interior and product designer known for her eclectic creativity and meticulous attention to detail. She’s specialized in luxury hospitality and residential interiors, with a particular interest in bespoke furniture and craftsmanship.

In 2011 she graduated in interior design at European Institute of Design with a thesis project in YACHT DESIGN. Afterwards she started working with a number of architecture studios. The projects have become increasingly important over time, giving her the opportunity to take the first step to work alone as interior designer.

“ I like Beauty. Beauty is said to be a subjective concept but, otherwise, I believe it is an objective value, because the aesthetic becomes a universal language when it is characterized as a form of expression .”

One of the main aims of Marsica’s projects is to create dynamic interiors that carry to different atmospheres and that bring the client to fully experience the dimension in which he finds himself.

Marsica often mixes a contemporary design with elements from the past, usually using furnishings with a vintage flavor put together with a more modern style. She also includes natural elements combining the use of rough materials, such as wood, brass or marble to the use of patterns reminiscent of the natural world.

She works a lot with patterns, fabrics and wallpapers, which are her passions since she was a child.

“The feeling for an object is characterized by its own life and by a story that, regardless of its material dimension, is related to the minds of who designed and realized that object. I like the idea to powerfully insert the vibe of furnishing from the past in the new time dimension. In a world where everything runs fast I think it’s pretty natural, especially for young generations, to feel a nostalgia for a past where objects and labor had more value and people lived closer to nature so, by my side, it’s a very intimate occasion to simply smell the perfume of an old armchair or to create spaces where you can feel the presence of Mother Nature ”.
