OPENING NIGHT: JAN 22, 7pm-Late

Reality, as we know it, has ceased to be a static dimension, evolving instead into a canvas of infinite layers. The exhibition ARtists explores this paradigm shift, where Augmented Reality (AR) is not merely a technological tool, but a critical language that expands the boundaries of perception and physical space. Through the lens of three visionary creators, this exhibition proposes a dialogue between the tangible and the virtual, the ancestral and the algorithmic.

Artists

  • Sam Heydt: Sam Heydt’s multimedia praxis mobilizes techniques of disruption and reiteration to challenge stabilizing frameworks by generating augmented realities that destabilize representations. Filtered through postmodern, glitch and parodic lenses, Heydt uses virtual augmentation to denaturalize norms and imagine new subjectivities in gallery spaces through digital refashioning of the real. By mapping augmented layers onto physical environments through an AR interface, Heydt merges real and virtual experiences in novel spatial configurations. Interested in AR’s potential, Heydt overlays ephemeral transformations onto backdrops to provoke contemplating experience’s permeable constitution across physical and virtual strata.

  • Mocre: Mocre is a multidisciplinary artist from Mexico City whose career is marked by exceptional versatility, masterfully transitioning from street art to the creation of installations, crypto-art, and immersive experiences. Recognized as a pioneer in presenting live Virtual Reality performances in cultural and governmental venues across Mexico, Mocre has redefined the use of mixed reality by hybridizing traditional techniques—such as linocut and painting—with cutting-edge technologies to breathe life into the pre-Hispanic worldview and endemic fauna. His ability to bridge digital innovation and tradition has led to collaborations on global stages like Burning Man and VRFESTMX, establishing him as a key figure who transforms technology into a bridge for conservation and cultural reflection.

  • Aldo Parallel: is a new media artist and concept designer working at the intersection of creative technologies and transmedia storytelling. For over a decade, he has led interactive art direction on culturally resonant projects across entertainment, advertising, and immersive media. His practice continues to evolve through original creations where narrative, technology, and veiled layers of meaning converge. Driven by augmented imagination, he fractures and reforges reality, revealing hidden dimensions and symbolic depths. Through MESOPOTAMICORE, he introduces and constructs a metamodern odyssey that reimagines Mesopotamian age, where shadow faces the light and ancient lore entwines with radical futures.
