Created in 1994, the Deborah Colker Dance Company has just turned 27 years old. With thirteen shows in its repertoire, the company remains one of the most awarded and prestigious in Brazil and in the world, receiving in 2018 the Prix Benois de la Danse in Moscow, the most important award in the category. He also received a Laurence Olivier in 2001, a famous English prize, given by The Society of London Theater, for the show Mix. In 2009, Deborah Colker was invited by Cirque du Soleil to create the new show by the Canadian company, Ovo, being the first woman to create and direct a show for Cirque. In 2016, she was the movement director of the Rio de Janeiro Olympics opening ceremony, an event broadcast to more than 2 billion people worldwide. Over the years, the Company has already made more than 1,600 presentations , in approximately 65 cities and in 32 countries , reaching an audience of more than 3,000,000 people .
