SOLOS es un espacio dedicado a la investigaci\u00f3n y a la creaci\u00f3n de monotipia.<\/p>\n
SOLOS surge como respuesta a la sistematizaci\u00f3n en la creaci\u00f3n de im\u00e1genes y su reproducci\u00f3n. Lo que caracteriza al monotipo es su singularidad, a pesar de utilizar los m\u00e9todos tradicionales de estampaci\u00f3n que promueven y facilitan la reproducci\u00f3n en serie, el monotipo se centra en el proceso de creaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
No nos interesa la reproducci\u00f3n de im\u00e1genes mec\u00e1nicamente, el inter\u00e9s est\u00e1 ligado a producir im\u00e1genes \u00fanicas que se construyan a trav\u00e9s de planteamientos y metodolog\u00edas que cada artista descubra en el proceso. Nos interesa utilizar la estampa con un fin t\u00e9cnico y procesal y no utilitario.<\/p>\n
Si no existe una matriz grabada desde la cual se pueda reproducir de manera sistem\u00e1tica una imagen, se aligera la carga t\u00e9cnica del proceso y se abre la posibilidad de experimentar una mayor libertad al pensar la imagen como construcci\u00f3n d\u00f3nde existe lugar para la sorpresa, el error y la intervenci\u00f3n. El monotipo, por su versatilidad, se emplea de manera l\u00fadica y experimental, a cambio, cuenta con el riesgo que conlleva someterlo a una regulaci\u00f3n metodol\u00f3gica ya que esto podr\u00eda parcializar su universo de posibilidades, limit\u00e1ndolo a metodolog\u00edas precisas. Por ello, para esta investigaci\u00f3n, se busca invitar a diferentes artistas para que se aproximen a \u00e9sta t\u00e9cnica desde lo particular, sin normalizar ning\u00fan proceso, simplemente llevando un registro de cada parte de \u00e9l, para generar un compendio por artista, de formas de investigaci\u00f3n y resoluciones relativas al monotipo.<\/p>\n
El proyecto SOLOS consiste en hospedar a un artista distinto durante un m\u00ednimo de diez d\u00edas y m\u00e1ximo un mes, en d\u00f3nde el objetivo es generar tres monotipos finales (como m\u00ednimo) haciendo registro diario en una bit\u00e1cora individual donde cada uno pueda desplegar su exploraci\u00f3n con los materiales, los procesos, las referencias visuales y te\u00f3ricas, los hallazgos y los v\u00ednculos que se establecen con el trabajo previo.<\/p>\n
El objetivo de la bit\u00e1cora es contar con un registro escrito en tanto que el proceso pr\u00e1ctico pueda ser articulado y pensado para comprender el m\u00e9todo de cada artista al relacionarse con este medio. Nos interesa generar un archivo que despu\u00e9s pueda ser consultado y quiz\u00e1 en alg\u00fan momento, pensar la posibilidad de una publicaci\u00f3n. Durante el per\u00edodo de residencia, por cada artista, se invitar\u00e1 a una persona que establezca un di\u00e1logo y haga un acompa\u00f1amiento para promover una lectura interdisciplinaria. Es fundamental el intercambio fuera de la esfera del arte para fomentar y posibilitar otras l\u00edneas de interpretaci\u00f3n. Se elegir\u00e1n personas dispuestas a intercambiar ideas y establecer un v\u00ednculo con el artista y su trabajo.<\/p>\n
Cada a\u00f1o dentro del programa de SOLOS se establecer\u00e1 una l\u00ednea de investigaci\u00f3n, cada artista invitado desarrollar\u00e1 su producci\u00f3n con base en el tema propuesto y la vincular\u00e1 a su trabajo. Esto, con el fin de tener una cohesi\u00f3n entre los artistas que participen anualmente y una l\u00ednea espec\u00edfica que pueda ser interpretada desde distintos \u00e1ngulos para al final del a\u00f1o generar una publicaci\u00f3n con fragmentos de las bit\u00e1coras, piezas, reflexiones, textos y la participaci\u00f3n de los invitados.<\/p>\n
La publicaci\u00f3n busca ser un registro de la pr\u00e1ctica del monotipo, en donde los procesos, los saberes y los intercambios sean objetivados para incorporarlos, en cuanto esquemas de acci\u00f3n y percepci\u00f3n, a interioridades individuales y sea posible su transmisi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

SOLOS is a space dedicated to the research and creation of monotypes.<\/p>\n
SOLOS emerges as a response to the systematization of image creation and reproduction. What characterizes a monotype is its singularity. Despite its use of traditional stamping methods which promote and facilitate serial reproduction, the monotype is centered around the process of creation.<\/p>\n
We are not interested in the mechanical, but rather the unique production of images which are developed through the approaches and methodologies that each artist discovers along the process. We are interested in the stamp as a technical and processual means; not a utilitarian one.<\/p>\n
Not having a set matrix from which to systematically reproduce an image eases the technical burden of the process and opens a possibility to freely experience the image as a place for surprise, error, and intervention.<\/p>\n
The monotype, due to its versatility, is employed in a playful and experimental way. At the same time, it is at risk of being subjected to methodical regulation, which would diminish its universe of possibilities and limit it to precise methodologies. For this reason, we seek to invite different artists to approach this technique in their own ways. No process will be normalized, but each part will be documented in order to generate a compilation of research and goals for each artist.<\/p>\n
SOLOS consists of hosting a different artist for a minimum of ten days and a maximum of two months. The goal is to generate ten final monotypes (minimum), keeping a daily record where each artist can unfold their explorations with materials, processes, visual and theoretical references, findings, and connections to previous work.<\/p>\n
The purpose of this record is also to keep a written account of the process in order to comprehend the methods that each artist employs to relate to this medium. We are also interested in building an archive which can then be consulted, and at some point, potentially turned into a publication.<\/p>\n
During the residence period, someone will be invited to establish a dialogue and promote an interdisciplinary reading with each artist. Having exchanges outside of the art sphere is fundamental in fostering and enabling other lines of interpretation. Someone will be selected based on their willingness to exchange ideas and establish connections with the artist and their work.<\/p>\n
The publication will serve as a record of the practice of monotype, where processes, knowledge, and exchanges are incorporated, as plans of action and perception, into individual interiorities to be transmitted.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
