It is located on the\u00a0Place des festivals<\/a>\u00a0in the\u00a0Quartier des spectacles<\/a>\u00a0and is part of the\u00a0Place des Arts<\/a>\u00a0complex.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1964, it is Canada’s first museum devoted to contemporary art. Initially housed in the\u00a0Place Ville-Marie<\/a>, the museum moved into the premises of the\u00a0Ch\u00e2teau Dufresne<\/a>\u00a0in 1965, followed by an exhibition gallery from\u00a0Expo 67<\/a>\u00a0in 1968.
