When you study ceramics, you will be able to develop technical skills in hand building, slip casting, glazing and firing, as well as engage in contemporary art practices like installation and digital imagery with your work.<\/p>\n<p>In Quebec\u2019s only Ceramics program, you\u2019ll learn a specialized practice that encompasses:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Theory, history and practice of ceramics<\/li>\n<li>Immersing yourself in the technical process<\/li>\n<li>Exploring new ways of thinking about and discussing your work<\/li>\n<li>Engaging in collaborative projects across art disciplines<\/li>\n<li>Going on field trips and meeting visiting artists<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You\u2019ll practice in a communal atmosphere, sharing a studio, kiln and glaze room. Your ceramics courses will regularly feature special collaborative projects, field trips and visiting artists. It should represent your individual interests, abilities and explorations. Consider visual, conceptual, and technical proficiency in selecting your best and most recent work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"xlarge-text\"><i>If you are applying to more than one Fine Arts program, be sure to submit a separate portfolio for each program choice.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"c-separator section\">\n<div class=\"c-separator--transparent\">\n<hr aria-hidden=\"true\" \/>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"c-wysiwyg wysiwyg section\">\n<div class=\"rte\">\n<p><span class=\"xlarge-text\"><b>Your portfolio should contain:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"xlarge-text\">Minimum number of portfolio items: 15.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"xlarge-text\">Maximum number of portfolio items: 20.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"xlarge-text\">Each portfolio item must be a single digital file.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"xlarge-text\">Either recently completed or currently in progress.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"xlarge-text\">Include work that demonstrates your ability to work in a variety of media, in both two and three dimensions.
