I work within an approach I define as Empathic Realism—a practice grounded in empathy, deep listening, and collaboration, where I set aside my own lens to see, feel, and create from within the lived perspective of my subjects. Through my art, I work directly with individuals to reclaim narrative, transforming lived experiences of adversity into expressions of empowerment and resilience.
Much of my practice centers on women participating in the Healing Words Project, a global platform where art serves as a catalyst for healing and reclaiming personal power. Women collaborate with me not only visually, but also through their own words—writing personal mantras, reflections, and testimonies drawn from their healing journeys. This ensures their voices are amplified rather than erased. These narratives emerge from diverse cultures and geographies, offering empowered female representation while honoring women’s lived identities across the world.
Each piece unfolds through a sustained collaborative process that can span months, and sometimes years, as we work together to conceptualize a visual expression of their journey. This intentional safe space approach allows each person to be fully seen and heard, providing a meaningful way to share what it means to live, survive, and thrive as womxn. A strength-based narrative dialogue—woven with their chosen language—becomes integral to the work, helping to reframe identity through empowerment.
The restorative presence of nature plays a significant role throughout my practice, offering grounding and renewal within the creative process. Nature functions as both metaphor and active force, supporting movement through personal and collective challenges. Through contemporary realism informed by empathy and relationship, I explore the complexities of the human condition, creating a bridge between my collaborators, the viewer, and the natural world.
My goal is to create work that honors the lived experiences of womxn and gender based expansive voices while inviting viewers to recognize themselves within these stories—to see their own resilience reflected and to understand that healing is possible. I am deeply committed to the transformative capacity of art and its ability to foster connection, restoration, and self-discovery. My current series focuses on the women of the Healing Words Project, honoring their wisdom and amplifying their voices.

The foundation of my work lies in capturing the struggle and strength at the core of the human experience.
