Sabino Guisu\u2019s latest series\u2014paintings, textiles, sculptures, installations, and large-format ceramics\u2014centers on the theme of Creation and Renewal. At the heart of this body of work lies the axolotl, a remarkable salamander native to Mexico that has captivated scientists with its extraordinary ability to regenerate lost body parts and remain ageless. Yet the axolotl is also a creature of myth, inhabiting the shimmering realms of Mexican legend as a symbol of perpetual renewal.<\/p>\n
The artworks in this exhibition are woven together through a series of visual gestures. By incorporating the spiral\u2014one of humanity\u2019s oldest symbols representing growth and transformation\u2014and Zapotec meander designs, which evoke the movement of water, Axolotl Creation takes us on a journey of realization and transformation to birth something new: a seed for a renewed consciousness, planted deep within Mexican identity.<\/p>\n
AXOLOT CREATION es la serie m\u00e1s reciente de Sabino Guisu \u2014pinturas, textiles, esculturas, instalaciones y cer\u00e1micas de gran formato\u2014, centrada en los temas de Creaci\u00f3n y Renovaci\u00f3n. En el coraz\u00f3n de la muestra se encuentra esta extraordinaria salamandra, originaria de M\u00e9xico, que ha cautivado al mundo con su capacidad para regenerar partes del cuerpo perdidas y permanecer eternamente joven. Sin embargo, el axolote tambi\u00e9n es una criatura m\u00edtica, considerada la encarnaci\u00f3n del gemelo de Quetzalc\u00f3atl, que desafi\u00f3 a la muerte y habit\u00f3 las aguas de la mitolog\u00eda mexicana como s\u00edmbolo de renovaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
Esta exposici\u00f3n se teje a trav\u00e9s de gestos visuales como las grecas zapotecas, que evocan el movimiento del agua, y la espiral, uno de los s\u00edmbolos m\u00e1s antiguos de la humanidad que representa el crecimiento y la transformaci\u00f3n para dar a luz una semilla de renovaci\u00f3n, plantada en lo m\u00e1s profundo de la identidad mexicana.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
