{"id":37650,"date":"2025-10-21T20:38:31","date_gmt":"2025-10-22T02:38:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/themesh.art\/?post_type=eventos&#038;p=37650"},"modified":"2025-11-07T19:17:06","modified_gmt":"2025-11-08T01:17:06","slug":"al-alimon","status":"publish","type":"eventos","link":"https:\/\/themesh.art\/en\/eventos\/al-alimon\/","title":{"rendered":"al alim\u00f3n"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Saenger Galer\u00eda<\/b>, in collaboration with\u00a0<b>Centro de Arte Limantour<\/b>, presents the group exhibition\u00a0<em>\u201c<b>al alim\u00f3n\u201d<\/b><\/em><b>\u00a0<\/b>by artists\u00a0<b><i>Rodolfo D\u00edaz Cervantes (Mexico, 1980) and Marco Rountree (Mexico, 1982).<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After several years of working together in the art production collective\u00a0<em>Vigueta y Bovedilla<\/em>, D\u00edaz Cervantes and Rountree now return\u2014this time in a dialogue where their distinct voices intertwine\u2014with a new body of work and site-specific interventions conceived in and for\u00a0<i>Casa Limantour.<\/i>\u00a0This collaboration merges Marco\u2019s ability to create assemblages using diverse materials\u2014offering new narratives around the everyday, the discarded, and the hidden aspects of matter\u2014with Rodolfo\u2019s practice, shaped by improvisation, accidents, impulses, and small, monastic acts of repetition as pathways toward unexpected outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This project, signed\u00a0<b><em>\u201cal alim\u00f3n\u201d<\/em>\u00a0<\/b>(a Spanish expression meaning &#8220;done together&#8221; or &#8220;in tandem&#8221;), is more than a collection of new studio works\u2014it is the result of a residency rooted in experimentation, improvisation, and in-situ intervention. During their stay, the conversation between the artists and the space that hosts them\u2014the materiality and finish of the artworks and installations\u2014acts as a guiding thread. This is visible in the shine of objects, tools, plastic, metallic, or chromed utensils, which unify disparate elements that would otherwise be unrelated. Yet the strangeness, beauty, and discomfort infused by the artists have imbued the architectural and symbolic space with a new logic\u2014one that gives meaning to an abstract universe joined by forks on a wall.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On this way,\u00a0<i>Casa Limantour<\/i>\u00a0ceases to be a traditional exhibition space of architectural gravitas and becomes a spatial logbook of art created outside the studio\u2014built through processes of making, searching, constructing, acquiring, inventing, experimenting, and intervening.<\/p>\n<p><em><b>\u201cal alim\u00f3n\u201d<\/b><\/em>\u00a0is born from the dance between two voices, where words and intentions are articulated in a dialogue of mutual understanding.
