A partir de la memoria del programa Bracero \u2014que llev\u00f3 a millones de jornaleros mexicanos al campo estadounidense\u2014, Lara aborda una forma de sincretismo particular: c\u00f3mo la jardiner\u00eda ornamental de origen europeo, reinterpretada en los suburbios de Estados Unidos, termin\u00f3 influenciando la realidad rural mexicana.<br \/>\nCon el programa Bracero, el trabajo agr\u00edcola cruz\u00f3 fronteras y, con el tiempo, mut\u00f3 de forma: de la milpa al c\u00e9sped, del surco al jard\u00edn. El saber del campo pas\u00f3 a sostener los suburbios, donde el jard\u00edn se volvi\u00f3 s\u00edmbolo de distinci\u00f3n. Luego esas t\u00e9cnicas regresaron a M\u00e9xico: el pasto sustituy\u00f3 al matorral, y el desierto se volvi\u00f3 decorado. Subyace en ese proceso la idea del paisaje como conquista, palpable en los jardines verdes que sobreviven en terrenos \u00e1ridos del norte de M\u00e9xico, invadidos de pastizales, especies ex\u00f3ticas y gasto h\u00eddrico desmedido.<br \/>\nEn la exhibici\u00f3n, esta realidad cobra forma en el pasto natural no end\u00e9mico, colocado sobre m\u00e1rmol, sin tierra donde arraigar, destinado a morir y que mantiene su apariencia solo al ser pintado de verde. Este gesto de disimulo y artificio alude a esa escenograf\u00eda domesticada y as\u00e9ptica.<br \/>\nContraponi\u00e9ndose a esa idea, las esculturas de la muestra, herramientas h\u00edbridas entre m\u00e1quina y animal, funcionan como una cr\u00edtica a la narrativa de dominaci\u00f3n sobre el paisaje. Como una falla en ese relato, una serpiente enroscada en una podadora o un tractor con cuernos de buey, se\u00f1alan no solo la domesticaci\u00f3n, sino tambi\u00e9n la disputa del territorio: los sincretismos que emergen del proceso colonial y migratorio \u2014tradiciones, saberes y simbolismos que se mezclan y no solo se someten\u2014 revelan al paisaje como una entidad de mestizajes en
