El Museo de Arte Contempor\u00e1neo de Monterrey presenta a partir del 13 de junio \u2018Convergencias \/ Divergencias. Dos est\u00e9ticas, una sensibilidad\u2019, de la Colecci\u00f3n Juan Carlos Maldonado, un recorrido por dos maneras de concebir el arte: la abstracci\u00f3n geom\u00e9trica de la modernidad y contemporaneidad occidental, y las pr\u00e1cticas simb\u00f3licas de las comunidades ind\u00edgenas, particularmente la ye\u2019kwana.
\nDesde hace 20 a\u00f1os, el coleccionista Juan Carlos Maldonado se ha dedicado a formar un acervo que inici\u00f3 con obras de artistas de su natal Venezuela, como Jes\u00fas Rafael Soto y Carlos Cruz-Diez. Con el tiempo, su colecci\u00f3n se ampli\u00f3 hacia exponentes del arte cin\u00e9tico y la abstracci\u00f3n geom\u00e9trica de otras latitudes, incluyendo tambi\u00e9n expresiones art\u00edsticas de comunidades ind\u00edgenas del sur de Venezuela y norte de Brasil.
\nLa exposici\u00f3n propone un di\u00e1logo entre distintos lenguajes visuales unidos por una sensibilidad com\u00fan que trasciende culturas y contextos temporales. M\u00e1s all\u00e1 de las coincidencias est\u00e9ticas y formales, Convergencias \u2013 Divergencias busca entablar conexiones simb\u00f3licas, mostrando el arte como un campo de encuentro entre mundos distintos pero profundamente conectados.
