\ud835\ude08\ud835\ude2d\ud835\ude28\u00fa\ud835\ude2f \ud835\ude25\u00ed\ud835\ude22 \ud835\ude2d\ud835\ude2d\ud835\ude26\ud835\ude28\ud835\ude22\ud835\ude33\u00e1 \ud835\ude2d\ud835\ude22 \ud835\ude2f\ud835\ude30\ud835\ude24\ud835\ude29\ud835\ude26 (Someday the night will come) is Erik Tlaseca\u2019s debut solo exhibition in Mexico, marking his decade-long exploration of a self in flux: sexuality, nationality, class, cultural traditions\u2014identity markers he considers hybrid, unfixed, and in perpetual negotiation. This inquiry intertwines with his examination of the body as a medium\u2014a shapeshifting vessel, carrier of microhistories, in active transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The exhibition brings together works from 2015 up to now and includes sculptures, masks, full-body suits, and calligraphy ink drawings, which in various iterations involve the use of or reference to woven palm leaf, an Indigenous craft tradition laden with historical weight. Tlaseca\u2019s engagement with the medium was inspired by the historical reference of the \u201cpetateados\u201d or palm-wrapped bodies, a connection that deepened when meeting the artisans from the community of San Pedro Jocotipac, Oaxaca, who he has collaborated for over a decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esta investigaci\u00f3n se entrelaza con su exploraci\u00f3n del cuerpo como medio: un recipiente que cambia de forma, portador de microhistorias en transformaci\u00f3n activa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
