Mijn Toevluchtsoord (\u2018My Refuge\u2019 in English) is a space where joy, memory, and belonging converge. Raquel van Haver\u2019s textured works\u2014woven from burlap, tar, resin, and oil\u2014combine with her experimentations in drawing to create vivid, layered depictions of life\u2019s communal rhythms. Rooted in her dual connections to Amsterdam and Colombia, van Haver explores cultural intersections through festival scenes, intimate portraits, and mythological allusions. Her bold canvases and dynamic drawings evoke the raw beauty of celebration while highlighting the shared need for connection and refuge. Through this interplay of the personal and universal, Mijn Toevluchtsoord asks us to reconsider our perception of home and community.
