Cristina Augusta, la \u00fanica hija leg\u00edtima del Rey Gustavo II Adolfo, hered\u00f3 el trono del Reino de Suecia a los 6 a\u00f1os seg\u00fan lo dispuso su padre, quien falleci\u00f3 mientras estaba al frente al ej\u00e9rcito sueco en la Guerra de los Treinta A\u00f1os. Recibi\u00f3 la educaci\u00f3n destinada al heredero, y desde joven destac\u00f3 por su inteligencia y vasta cultura. Al asumir el trono a los 18 a\u00f1os, impuls\u00f3 un ambicioso proyecto de desarrollo cultural en el reino. Su reputaci\u00f3n como protectora y mecenas de las artes y el conocimiento se difundi\u00f3 r\u00e1pidamente por toda Europa, lo que atrajo a su corte a pintores, fil\u00f3sofos, dramaturgos, compositores y otros artistas. A partir de 1647, el Consejo del Reino intent\u00f3 persuadirla para que contrajera matrimonio, una presi\u00f3n que, entre otros factores, la condujo a abdicar del trono. Sin embargo, Cristina de Suecia continu\u00f3 siendo una figura de gran influencia al reunir en torno a s\u00ed a destacados compositores como Alessandro Scarlatti, Alessandro Stradella, Carlo Gesualdo, Dieterich Buxtehude y Marc’Antonio Cesti , cuyas obras forman parte de este concierto de la Academia de M\u00fasica Antigua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
