El Coro de Madrigalistas de Bellas Artes, junto al ensamble Antiqva Metropoli, presenta un concierto dedicado a la obra de Manuel de Sumaya, figura clave de la m\u00fasica novohispana. Sumaya, compositor nacido en la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico y maestro de capilla en las catedrales de M\u00e9xico y Oaxaca, dej\u00f3 un legado musical que absorbi\u00f3 y fundi\u00f3 la tradici\u00f3n espa\u00f1ola con elementos locales, con lo que enriqueci\u00f3 la vida cultural de su tiempo. Este concierto ofrece una selecci\u00f3n de villancicos para uno, dos y tres coros con acompa\u00f1amiento instrumental y una cantada<\/em> para voz sola, g\u00e9neros en los que Sumaya se destac\u00f3 por su uso innovador de la policoralidad y por fusionar lo sagrado y lo popular.
